Bloomsburg Downs Mansfield in Field Hockey

MANSFIELD.-- Jamie Vanartsdalen (Huntington Valley/Lower Moreland) scored two goals leading the Bloomsburg University field hockey team to a 3-0 win over Mansfield on Wednesday afternoon. The win was the 21st straight for the Huskies over Mansfield dating back to 1990. Over the last 28 years, the Huskies are 31-0-1 against Mansfield.

Vanartsdalen got the Huskies going 15 minutes into the game when she scored unassisted to make it 1-0. It stayed that way till with less than a minute to play before halftime, Whitney Miller (Lancaster/Penn Manor) scored off an assist from Ashley Heckard (Millerstown/Greenwood).

Vanartsdalen closed out the scoring for the Huskies with a goal in the 61st minute to make the final 3-0.

Bloomsburg goes to 7-1, 4-1 in the PSAC, while Mansfield falls to 5-3, 2-3 in the PSAC. The Huskies visit Shippensburg on Saturday.
